The Phillies announced Saturday that prized pitching prospect Carlos Carrasco has been promoted to class-AAA Lehigh Valley.
Carrasco , who is widely regarded to be the Phillies' top prospect, recorded a 4.32 ERA in 20 outings with class-AA Reading.
Carrasco, 21, was called up to the IronPigs after the Phillies promoted Les Walrond to the big-league club last week.
If Carrasco puts forth a solid month or so at Lehigh Valley, it's conceivable that he'll compete for a spot in the Phillies' starting rotation in 2009.

Hey Matt. Is Victorino on riods? lol. Where is this power coming from?
lol Joe. You know what? Victorino's always had some pop. If you notice, all of his homers are line-drives (like Utley's). He crushes mistakes... fastballs that tail inside, which is his happy zone. He's so quick with the bat on pitches that are inside.
Victorino's performance somewhat makes up for Rollins, who isn't hitting at all this year.
